If you suffer power outages often enough for that to be a serious question, then no. Last month I used 3,405 kWh of electricity. A fully charged Tesla (which unless you have one with LFP battery chemistry is undesirable), is around 75kWh. Rather than spend money to risk damaging your Tesla battery in an outage, a natural gas standby generator makes a lot more sense. Kohler is the best, Generac is the most popular.
